More adventures in a strange land

As you can see. I can upload pictures, but have not yet figured out how to coordinate pictures and writing. The pictures are kinda random, just giving you a flavor of some of what is happening here, I will do a more coordinated layout as soon as I have better control of the electronics. The childrens´programs are very strong, and I have given you a glimpse of the Los Pinos program, with 27 children, and the Santa Elena program, with almost 40 children. Imagine the opportunity to teach Bible stories and songs daily in a public school setting. Also, vitamins are given, basic hygeine is taught, and head lice are treated for the little Los Pinos community. There is home construction going on, and plans are moving forward for the clinic building. Pablo is healing from his surgery, but is still unable to travel to do any of his functions as acting director here, so it is very good that I am here to help with these matters.

For those of you who are holding us up in prayer, a couple of requests: 1- verbal communication has been completely cut off between Wanda and I, we have not been able to talk for 6 days now. E-mails are okay, texts go through variably, but phone lines are not working. Also, we crashed both of our computers at home trying to use Skype - evidently some kind of virus was introduced via the Skype connection. 2- there is actually some danger in the situation here, pray for safety for us. I travelled up a small winding road to the Los Pinos area this morning, then was told this afternoon that, on that very road 2 weeks ago, cars were being pulled over and robbed at gunpoint by masked banditos. I was a sitting duck, driving alone this morning. But the angels were there. I have seen no problems, I am varying driving routes and times, travelling with others when able, and keeping valuables in a safe (which could itself be stolen), and trying to be in the hotel secured area by 5:30, but nothing is absolutely secure in this situation.

I will do a better job with pictures as time allows in the next few days.
